Cadets of the Lackawanna College Police Academy are in heated race against other LEO groups to win a scholarship donation to their favorite institution from the Eric Williams Scholarship Fund.
Don Williams, father of fallen Federal Corrections Officer Eric Williams, is at a scholarship diner for faculty and students who are recipients of scholarship award from the Eric Williams Scholarship Fund. This fund has been able to award almost Eighty-thousand dollars in scholarships to upcoming law enforcement officers and workers through their institutions in which they are enrolled. The largest portion of this money has come from individual donations from Corrections officer Unions, events held by corrections offers to raise funding, or from personal donations from corrections officers.
Families of Corrections officers are enjoying the day and the reward of 1st place for their team in the LEO Mountaineer Classic annual softball tournament.
This annual event brings teams comprised primarily of corrections officers and families together once a year in West Virginia for a great day of fun and sport. The profits from this event are all donated to the Eric Williams Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to selected colleges, universities, trade schools, and police academies to benefit students who are entering criminal justice curriculums. The event, founded by Randon McDonald and Paul Camacho is hosted by the Corrections Officers of FCI Hazelton, WV.
